Oh, that's a shame. I didn't appreciate that Wikipedia prefers to engage in hyperbole to influence the reader rather than remaining as objective as possible. I appear to have misunderstood the secondmost pillar of Wikipedia's fundamental principles, i.e. "representing fairly, proportionately, and, as far as possible, without editorial bias, all the significant views that have been published by reliable sources on a topic". I also didn't appreciate that referencing popular media sources (often sources of bias themselves) as "reliable sources". The language used in this article presented this scientist unfairly and wouldn't be languaged used for other scientists who do not share this scientist's view. The impact of this is to skew the reader towards not engaging (and thereby not critiquing) this scientist's view which could be productive to the scientific method as afterall, this scientist could be wrong, but he also could be right, that is the process of science (I know, because I am one). The edits I made stayed true to the (still biased but at least published) references whilst minimising the hyperbole present in the language.
I'd urge you to reconsider reverting the changes made, I will also urge you to find more reliable academic peer-reviewed published references that support the language included in this article to support your position. I will be careful to not rely on Wikipedia as a source of objective information in the future and will be careful to check the references of the article to indicate the validity of the position presented as the language will be biased. Thanks for your message. 101.161.82.195 (talk) 08:43, 9 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
